1993; Fontier Designs, Inc. - New York

Vintage lead-free pewter lamp with a hobnail exterior.

This piece features a suggestive design that we will leave open to interpretation. It was designed and manufactured by Leon Fontier, a prominent artist whose chosen medium is pewter, and almost always with the same hobnail look. His works are on permanent display at Yale's Art Gallery and The White House.
Fontier was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo before moving to Belgium to receive an education in tropical husbandry; he then settled in New York in 1972. In addition to smithing and artistry, Fontier is currently the executive director of Habitat Technologies Solutions for the Congo (HTSC) in New York.

Exhibits minor signs of wear including some tarnish.
